Help! We are looking for garden layout ideas please
Hello Houzz, we are looking for garden design ideas for our small garden. We moved in about 5 wks ago. Our Initial plans of changing our lounge has been put on delay as the Carpenter we wanted isn’t available for 7/8 months. So we have moved onto any other part.
The garden is lovely but unfortunately we are not green fingered so we want to change but are looking for some design / layout advice from HOUZZ. The wish list are;
- In ground rectangle trampoline (8ft x 12) for my 5&6 yrs old girls.
- Astroturfing the current grass.
As with most things the budget is tight & so we are getting a couple of quotes. So any suggestions that we could incorporate or any advice that could save some money is more than welcomed.
Measurements
A is approx 377cm.
B is approx 630cm
C is 330cm
D is 500cm across

2 years agoThis is my preschool attempt at a design layout. We like the idea of having the in-ground trampoline near the rear fence but also like the idea of it being on the bottom right of the garden.
We also also like the attached seating area maybe in position E or F.

Comments (20)I agree deepen the color, don't change it and yes art art art! maybe lessen the presence of the brick with the earlier suggestion of the metal cogs its and use traditional artwork pics/nature/paintings on the painted wall. I also like the idea to paint the part of the wall that juts out in a darker shade of the same color. Now you have lots to consider and lots to dismiss as well. Comments (25)Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. Comments (1)The room has a nice feel but is a challenge in regard to furniture placement. Without structural changes, the best option would be to move the desk to the wall beside the double doors or to the wall bounding the kitchen and put a sofa (you may fit a three seater) to the left of the fireplace and buy two nice chairs on double door side of the fireplace. Something like this but without the middle sofa. A big mirror over the fireplace will help bounce light. Longer term, perhaps you should consider opening up the kitchen.
