Help with this odd door setup please
This a bungalow layout and I have attached one half part of the plan. In the current setup the main entrance door and the family bathroom door or positioned in such a way . When we open / access the family bath while having the main entrance open( orange) whomever standing by the door will have full view to the family bathroom, which I find quite weird although such scenarios are very rare . Arrow in red indicates the entrance. Please can of you wise lots help with ideas how can we overcome this weird setup by repositioning the door. Due the small size of the room I couldnt think of any options other than moving the bathroom door to further left but that will impact the bath setup. The two door adjacent to familybathroom is just a cupboard....please help with your thoughts and ideas . Thanks

Comments (56)The trim in your rooms is outstanding. To "tie the rooms together", the one thing I would do is install chair rail the same color as the existing trim. The horizontal lines of chair rail will move the eye around the room and into the next room creating a flow. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. Comments (16)About your plumber saying "plumb layout is confirmed". That is a load of rubbish. It's fairly easy to move drains around (yes he might have to rip up some walls, but he can also do off-the-wall installations to avoid that). In a small bath proper placement is of the utmost importance!!! If you have the bathtub and shower next to each other that will be much better and then the glass separator idea should work. padmaramachandran's (see post above) setup sounds more reasonable to me as well (see first picture below). This is similar to your setup but as you have more space you could put in bath tub and shower where the picture only shows a bath tub. Also if you do it that way you could theoretically have a bidet or a wider wash basin (small double perhaps too). Example layout: Do you need a bathtub in the guest bath? If not you have a lot more room to work with. E.g. for a double wash basin and large walking shower and a bidet (2nd picture). Example of off-the-wall installation for toilet and bidet and a large walking shower. Finally if you ignore this advice and do it the way you planned ;) then I suggest you really thing about that glass separator. Doing it right will make a lot of difference (see 3rd picture). Comments (16)What I'm actually wondering though is about mixing the metals - so having the chandelier and lamps with the touch of silver - or would I be better to source antique brass lamps like I have in some other rooms in the house - I kind of wanted to feature quite a bit of glass, and generally the glass comes with chrome, but I'm not sure if it's too modern for the sideboard etc, and mores worried about the clash of metals, but something tells me it might be ok in this instance! I have chrome taps and rainfall shower head in new bathroom and kept with antique brass for the light fittings and door/press knobs. 2 years agoThank you . Here is the full plan with extension plan details. Ensuite for bedroom 1 is new extension. Along with the full layout of bedroom 4 ( current kitchen) with kitchen utility and liv room extension .

2 years ago@rinked . I have been thinking about your feedback about the current plan being stretched and I agree to it. Here is the original layout and what I shared earlier is the extension layout for which work had not begun yet.
My main idea was to add another bedroom and get a bigger kitchen with utility.
Would you mind sharing any other alternative view to the plan that I shared earlier. I really appreciate the time and suggestions u gave.
