I love the look of these but how practical are they? My husband says they’ll show up everything, but to be honest I (try) to keep the kitchen pretty clean and tidy so I don’t see it as much of a problem. I was just wondering if any of you have white worktops and how you have found it? Thank you
My current worktops are dark green 🤔 They show every mark and crumb.
I am planning to replace them with mock Carrera marble (i e laminated). I hope that on top of kitchen being lighter the new worktop wouldn’t show smudges as much as the current one.
I have white Wilsonart worktops—they’re not full solid surface, its 6mm of solid surface around a chipboard core. I love them. Easily cleaned and if you do drop something that stains, a little rub with wire wool will sort it; this means they’re also repairable. My kitchen is north facing, so I really needed the brightness. Also, being able to see stuff on it has been an advantage, and it’s nowhere near as bad as my parents’ glossy sparkly black worktop at their last house. That was a nightmare to keep clean—it showed everything, and not in a good way.
So, what about this for a compromise: black/charcoal cabinets and marble worktops and light wood flooring? I think that could work?
Although, for my taste, I prefer white, wood, marble and some black detailing In chairs, tap, lighting etc. Maybe even SOME dark cabinets, but an overall light look. Would that be too light considering it’s a south facing room With a roof lantern?
