Building large extension in new facing brick and then brick slip old

We have a 1970s build and we aren’t keen on the brick. We are building a large, wrap around double storey extension and rebuilding the front to bay the downstairs front windows and replace old tiles. The old bricks will remain down one side and then a few at the front. Has anyone ever come across building extension out of a new choice of facing brick, and then brick slipping any original house left to tie it all in? this would be an ideal solution but not sure how realistic it is!! any advice is appreciated!

Its more common for brick slips to be old bricks but I think I remember Ibstock do make slips to match their normal bricks so I shouldn't think it would be difficult.

Thank you. I have a local company that also specialises in making brick slips so that part is absolutely fine. It is more a case of the complexity from a builders point of view?!

I'd imagine it wouldn't be too complex, probably they'd just render over the old brickwork and then apply the brick slips.

Brick slips are great and now come in a great variety but I think you could be creating more problems with blending everything together and additional costs as brickslips are similar in price to standard facing bricks and also pointing of them is very labour intensive. Maybe worth getting costed to see if budget allows.
