Kitchens Renovating Design Dilemma

Open plan kitchen ideas please?

Have just bought a house and would like to create an open plan kitchen with a utility room. GF floor plan attached. Thinking of knocking down wall between dining room and kitchen but unsure how to fit in utility room. It is important that utility room has external door to outside as we have a dog. Ideas welcome.

How about knocking lounge and kitchen together and using exisitng dining room as a separate snug. You could put a wall up in the part where the existing kitchen units for a utility and have a back door leading out where the current window by the sink is? This would give you a better shaped room for the kitchen/diner/family area.

When you get rid of the brown leather furniture, I suggest you again get a sofa and 2 chairs as they will offer you more flexibility than a sectional sofa. You may even have space for a sofa and 4 chairs, or sofa and 3 chairs. It totally depends on your space and layout. Your choice for your sun room furniture should complement the living room, but be somewhat different. You may want to use lighter colors in the sun room section and more plants. The lighter colors will better withstand the fading problems that sun can cause and the plants will benefit from the sun.

Hi, One of the possible plans is to block off the window and put tall units with eye level ovens, larder, fridge freezer etc. keep the sink run in a straight line with sink, dishwasher, pull out bin and in the island put in the hob with drawers underneath. Either put in ceiling mounted extractor or a downdraft depending on what stage of build you are at. Hope this helps, we are in Northern Ireland if you but do work throughout the uk. Have you considered luxury vinyl planks? Waterproof, damp mop, easy to replace, and softer on your feet. I have tile in half of my house and wish I could replace it. It's hard on your feet, especially when you're standing for long periods of time in the kitchen. If it cracks, it's a pain to replace. You have to keep plenty of extra on hand for replacement because cracks are inevitable, either from something dropping on them or from settling. The flooring person I spoke with told me they're selling vinyl in even high end installations. He said they just installed 2300 square feet in a million dollar penthouse condo. Hope this helps!

Was going to suggest exactly what @Cherub Pebble said. Combining dining room and kitchen basically just turns one odd shaped room into a bigger odd shaped room and if you want to include a utility with garden access this would have to be where the current kitchen is (blocking the flow between the front and back of the open-plan), or at the back where the current patio doors are (which is probably your prime area in terms of light and views). If you have room dimensions that you could share, that would be helpful!
