Hello all! Can anyone shed any light on differences between Corian and Apollo slab tech worktops? Or any other recommendations for white surfaces - need it to be suitable for under mount sink, induction hob and for a waterfall end on the peninsula! Thanks in advance 😀
Corian is pure acrylic whereas the other worktops have a mixture of ingredients some of which tend to be more brittle. Corian is the most expensive. Corian is normally supplied in 12mm thick but can be doubled up.
In my kitchen I have Mirostone solid surface. There is also Pietra which is another solid surface worktop. Both come in slightly cheaper than quartz. Both need fabricating just like quartz does so not a job for the DIY man.
Thanks Daisy. Do they need a lot of attention afterwards? With a dog and 2 kids, I need hard-wearing, easy clean and low maintenance (or I could just keep them out of my lovely new kitchen 😂)
If you want a hard wearing worktop then i'd choose quartz over corian or any other acrylic solid surface all the time. You also have dekton and other sintered stone worktops as well.
