Built in wardrobes in front of door?

Hi, we are in the planning stages of reconfiguring our house upstairs. One of the bedrooms is 4.6m x 2.73. we’ve worked out with an architects help we can squeeze in an en-suite to the side and still be left with enough room for bed etc. The only problem is we want fitted wardrobes to maximise storage and our only place to put them would be right in front of the door in, so effectively walking into the side of the wardrobe. Is that odd? How much space between the door and wardrobe should be left If we do that? Obviously enough for the door to open fully but does it need anymore? It would be on the wall that’s only 2.73 long.

thanks
