After you choose a builder for house works (extension and interior renovations) do you sign a contract re terms etc? we have already received and accepted a quotation. Also what are the normal payment arrangements re payment in advance etc?
Ours was just a small project, £25 . Think we paid an initial £4k a week in advance of work starting. Then paid £4k at end of each week or something along those lines.
Should be scheduled in the contract - together with a notice on how you cancel and if they are taking on the responsibility for CDM etc. Anyone who doesn't do paperwork isn't complying with the law. This could leave you high and dry if things go wrong.
