What Dulux White/ Neutral matches with Ammonite F&B

We have just moved in to a small one bed cluster house.

we have decided to do a feature wall in ammonite in the lounge but due to expense we need to find a complimentary white from Dulux.

this white will need to be carried on up the stairs and on to the landing and it is very dark in those areas. The living room has good lighting.

I had thought about using Bone China from Dulux but will that m

please can i have some suggestions for a complimentary white/ neutral that can cope? Flooring is grey tone light oak and carpet is very light parchment/grey hues

Sounds lovely... you might be on to this already but we went with the Johnstone's matching service for ammonite/other F&B colours and it came out really well... much cheaper in comparison. We ended up going all ammonite and wimborne white for ceilings.

Hello the days are brightening up by now and I'm sure the room is looking less drab for it. However I think furniture rearranging will work wonders. You seem to have nice low window sills: show them off. If the sofa goes to the left between window and built-in unit you'll have a view out to the garden and more light in the room. Equally: can you fit the piano between the radiator and the double doors? Again: more light through the window. Low sills are a god-send, and so many of us are stuck with high ones. The room will feel more spacious with a good view to outdoors. The armchairs then: one to the left of the fireplace and one between the other window and piano. TV then between the two windows. (No shine on the screen) Does that fit maybe? Or do you need all five seats facing the TV? I rather like those stripy cushions. Can you find a striped wallpaper in matching colors and with an irregular pattern repeat for your accent wall? if going with wood floors how about a sheepskin rug for each of your doggies? Black or white. One last detail. A lower table for your side lamps would be good: At sofa arm or seat height. Coffee table could work in corner between window and new sofa position. Btw: I liked the suggestion to replace the cupboard doors above the fish tank with full-height ones. In some kitchen shops you can find ready-painted, wooden, panel doors that might fit. It's a long shot but you could be lucky. It would brighten up the corner if you got a light colour.

I can help find this for you in the morning if you haven't already. If you have photoshop, you can grab the RGB value of the color and then plug it into easyrgb.com for the closest colors to that value. I use it all the time for my work. As someone else mentioned though, this can only be used as a guideline. With light casting and shadows, it would be hard to find the exact match

First before you think of putting grey on your walls take into account the light in your kitchen. Where do you live? Is it sunny most of the year? Is your sky grey 4 to 6 months of the year in the winter and spring? Grey can be very depressing when you are surrounded by it day after day. My vote is for white walls or a light color. You also have to take into account what the other rooms are painted that are open to the kitchen's sight line.

To be honest I would be very careful with grey or anything with grey tones. We moved house last July and painted our lounge in FB elephants breath. In the north facing room it was very grey and sucked the life out of the room. We had to change it - very depressing. We have now used a paint from Little Greene - the paint quality is so much better than FB. Our decorator agrees. They might have a nice grey - but please be very sure of how it will look in your room!

Not yet, but I think we have settled on Ammonite, we’ve tried to alternative colours but we didn’t like it. Mainly just for the complimentary white colour now!

I wouldn’t say Ammonite was a feature wall colour, it’s a lovely pale grey neutral which is really gentle. If you’re wanting to keep costs down (who doesn’t) then I would suggest Dulux Polished Pebble, which is very similar. If you wanted a more grey feature wall Dulux Chic is rather nice then do the rest in Polished Pebble? Just ideas. In the image below, bottom wall is chic shadow and above it is Polished Pebble.
