Linear pendant over dining table?

i Am getting a 180-240cm dining table and have found a pendant light to go above it which I love but it’s only 85cm across! Will this be okay?

Since you want a traditional look, that light in the dining room just will not do. How tall is the room? If it's sufficiently tall (it looks that way), you could look into a chandelier to replace the pendant in there now! If you get a small flush mount fixture, it should be OK. Another solution would be to get a pendant fixture and swag the chain/cord over to the center of the island. I once had this problem in a client's dining room. We installed a chandelier centered over the table and used a ceiling medallion to hide the off-centered junction box. Does that make sense?
