We have recently put a new extension on our home and have a small dilemma, it is fantastic in terms of letting light through (sometimes too much but that is a nice problem to have) but we are unsure how to dress the windows, each panel measures 2m x 2.4m high... any ideas anyone?
I must admit I’d leave them bare personally (they look fab btw) as I don’t think they need dressing and it doesn’t look as if you need them for privacy.
However you could go for a ceiling mounted track with curtains. The second and third are on a wave system. Silent Gliss is the well known one but the 2nd pic was from curtains2go
I too don’t think you need window coverings, but if you prefer closing curtains at night, then simple curtains with a discreet rail could be the answer. I do get what you mean about the sun pouring in, the back of my house faces south and I had to put up curtains to create some shade.
I would also leave them bare - depending on privacy.
These are ours. We have fairly sheer blinds (put in by previous owner when they had the house extended and bifolds fitted). We occasionally use them to shade the TV. We are having more bifolds put into a further extension and no plans (or budget) to dress them at the moment. Will see what glare and things are like in time.
That’s a stunning extension, and the windows look great exactly as they are. I wonder why you want to dress them? It doesn’t look like privacy is an issue. It might be worth designing some lighting for your garden, so you still have a view through the windows - rather than blackness and reflections - at night.
