This RAL colour has an L (lightness) of 24 and a super low Chroma (colourfulness) of 0.321.
Absolute neutral would = 0 It has a Hue Angle of 268° so it sits in the Purple-Blue Hue Family.
Choosing a ‘black’ from a Hue Family that has some connection to the other key fixtures and fittings in your space is another way to approach introducing black.
This NCS colour (Johnstone’) is even closer to neutral with a Chroma of 0.277,
But it’s a touch lighter with an L = 24.44
Hue Angle = 311° which is in the Purple Hue Family.
And then there’s always Stuart Semple’s FAB creation!
😆🌈
Black 3.0 is “the blackest, the mattest paint in the known universe,” Semple said in the Kickstarter video for the new paint, which reportedly absorbs up to 99 percent of all light, compared to 99.96 percent for the original Vantablack. “It's like a black hole or a void in a bottle.”30 Jan 2019
