Space above wardrobe

Hi I have a gap above my mirrored wardrobe of approx. 30cm. Should I leave it empty? For context as soon as you enter the bedroom the mirrored wall in straight in front of you. The bed is to the right of the wardrobe.

This is down to personal preference. If you need additional storage space in the room then you may wish to consider using a carpenter to create a bespoke solution for you.

ugh, we're very lucky to be building our own house but I'm not enjoying how much work that involves. this is the random space I have for my walk in wardrobe - pentangular room without a doorway from the master bedroom, 630mm to the wall on the left which is 1780, then the facing wall is 1650mm, there's a 45°angled corner and 1580mm more, then 630mm to the original wall with 1255mm back to that door. I'm thinking shoe racks for 600mm inside the door on the left then hanging rail at top and middle of the rest of it over as far as the corner. Then vanity section with mirror and drawers below for make up and trinkets etc. then I'm a bit lost.... what should the break down of hanging vs shelving be and what about drawers!! I'm quite messy but am typically good at folding!!

I had wardrobes in wood finish They looked so dark So I could not cope with BLACK.! I would sand and paint the wardrobe white and the walls. The bed you could make pull down covers for top and end . (Make them like an open bag so you can wash them .But a devan bed would give open space look).. materal of the same colour as the curtains. Padding them or just covering. Make the spread the same colour. For day time. That should lift the darkness from the room. You can have a blackout blind for night if you want to keep the colours light. My room looked a treet much brighter. and I sleep better now. .OliveH

This is a renovation of a stairwell, hallway and landing we did recently. As you can see, we also created bespoke paneling for the client and the space itself is quite similar to yours.
