I’m looking to buy a new garden table and chairs and I’ve seen some that have a gas fire pit in the centre of the table which got me wondering about having a fire pit. Those who have them, do you use them a lot? Do they actually give out much heat?
Weve had a fire pit dining table for two years. On a positive we have used it a lot for bbqs where everyone cooks their own food to suit. It is very good for this and saves one person being off to the side cooking. Negative is it is very hot, uncomfortably so on your legs, and the smoke..... it’s pretty bad if you are downwind. We typically space out to cook, avoiding downwind spots and then move back in when it is cooling down. We had ours for a great price, but when it needs replacing we will not get the same again. Hope this helps.
Our daughter has one at her lodge within a dining table. Looks great but as the night drew on we got colder and colder, despite having blankets and throws. To be honest I couldn’t wait to get indoors to put on the gas fire!
