Microcement vs polished concrete?

Hello,

I know there are differences in how microcement and polished concrete are applied, but are there any significant differences in terms of (1) look/aesthetic and (2) durability, or anything else functional?

I guess I'm worried microcement may look cheaper/fake but that's a completely unqualified statement as I've not physically seen it before.

    Hi there.
The difference between the 2 is that Microcement is a hard wearing surface. Suitable for walls floors and wet areas. If done correctly it is 100% waterproof. We even install a resin cement which is waterproof before sealers.
We also instal venetian plaster. This is a lime based product, which is more suited for feature walls. It’s not a product for floors. !!
Some people will put it in wet areas and seal it in Many different ways, but it fails within time. Please don’t do it. This is what Microcement is for.
Please see my profile, I mm very new to Houzz, but I’m happy to help with any questions.
