Help with grey lounge ideas
Hi everyone!
I am pretty rubbish with interior design so in need of help and ideas, I have recently recarpeted, repainted in grey and have sofas which look grey in one light and purplish in another. I have a copper round mirror to place over the fire and a sheepskin rug in mottled grey and rectangular to place in front of the fire but at a loss of how to tie everything together with finishing touches and maybe some other colours apart from grey? I am unsure what to use the space for behind the couch ( galley wall , leave plain or art?) any suggestions massively appreciated

Comments (13)I'd paint white the TV wall in oder to make it visually higher and to hide the white color of the door, now the dark color under lines that it is rather low and different from two main doors color and height of third one. I like brown FP wall, it works good with sofas and will attract eyes visually raising the ceiling above TV furniture. And one more thing I'd think about: the 1-st photo shows that there are too much unconnected different heights (doors, mirror, TV furniture, FP wall, ceiling). Definitely some heights are needed to be connected. I'd put lower the mirror and the shelf above FP so that the TV furniture and the mirror up lines were the same height. Comments (20)Sorry, yes, I didn't explain very well, did I... I meant that as your room seems to be quite light, floor included, a dark grey that matches the bird on your wallpaper would give you that wow factor (pic1 below). You could then work on the layering textures within the same colour palette too with the rest of your accessories (rugs, mirrors etc). Or if you're not too keen on greys, pick out one of the other colours if you prefer- you have a good selection of pink, blue, green or yellow. 3 years agoAll grey can look a little flat, but you can perk it up with colourful cushions and artwork. Blush pink would look good, or mustard yellow and burnt orange would be good if you want something brighter. Here’s some ideas.

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoHi, I don't think it necessarily needs more colour. But it does need more personality, which you can bring in with art and accessories. I like the basket, the buckets and the wooden beam over the fireplace. I'd keep to that style. It really goes well with the tartan cushions on your sofas. And a plant or two will bring more life into the room too. Maybe a bit of a nature theme, with textured vases and lamps and nature themed prints.
In an ideal world, I'd remove the vertical blinds and the maybe the curtains too, and replace them with either semi transparant roller blinds or Roman blinds in a sort of textured linen look fabric or a faux silk perhaps. 3 years agoOh, and forgot to say that you could use the copper (colour) of the mirror in accessories too to tie it all together.
Maybe a copper floor lamp in the corner between couch and window?
