En-suite refurb

last month

Finally moved the boiler so I could knock half of the boiler room into our en-suite to enlarge it. Finally have a large walk in shower and double sink ive always wanted. Digital shower controls with app controls. Underfloor heating. Really pleased with it.

Next job is the bathroom refurb and have already started.

Hi Isobel, Could you add an obscured film to the window instead? I would have thought that this would be fine with planning as it's removable. I'm assuming that the planning restriction is because you're in a conservation area? The films come in different finishes, I've had a fairly successful go at applying a sandblasted one. There are specialist companies that will do it for you though

Hi, I'm building right now and struggling to decide on what to about bathroom vanities. I have a guest w.c., en-suite and main bathroom with double sink area to do. The selection in shops are doing nothing for me, apart a vessel sink on shelf combo, but that would leave me without storage. The house is modern but I dont want gloss units. I like the look of real wood but the selection in shops are more suited to older houses. I asked a kitchen maker if he could make something in wood, but with modern flat panel door - rather than shaker - but he said real wood would warp and only does veneer. I've asked him to quote for same but not sure now. I've seen so much I've confused myself and now I'm second guessing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Mira mode digital mixer. One button for overhead and one for handheld with a remote on/off button on the right hand side wall. I have never owned a digital mixer before. It is brilliant, you set the temp with the dial on the main control and it gets to that temp quickly and holds it there.

I also like that it the mixer has issues it’s in the loft and accessible, rather than the hassle of getting to a hidden mixer valve. I’m going to use the same for my other bathrooms and ensuites as I do them.

I have recently changed my boiler from a combi to a Worcester Bosch 8000 series system boiler with unvented hot water cylinder and accumulator tank. Massive improvement in reliability and pressure and hot water supply.
