Taken from kitchen island... planning a circular table at middle left of photo on a circular mat.. Would there be room for two seater sofa and armchair at stove end ? or better just two chairs? don't want to waste the open space all cluttered up. Hot press doors will be same colour as wall. Roman blind for window?
Circular tables are very sociable but I think a rectangular table would have a slimmer outline. Around the fire you could have a sofa, or two armchairs with a coffee table between them? I saw on another post they advise laying cardboard on the floor in the size of the table/sofa/armchairs which will help you see if they fit in the place.
In the first pic from Ikea they have the two armchairs with a round table behind!
Sonia, ikea photo... the table looks awfully close to chairs???
i still have my cardboard 😁 so far it's been an island, a sauna, a shower ,a bath and a table . ive had to move mother's sideboard and mahogany 8 person dining suite to another room so was trying to bridge gap between 2 stools on island and formal dining.
Haha Finn, yes you won’t be able to actually sit at that table! However, the armchair could be moved closer to the fire 😊. So the round table would be like a breakfast, casual dining table? Sounds good. 😊
It looks as if you have a door on the left just looking at the light on the floor? Does that mean the table would need to go in the centre of the room or left corner? What size is the table btw?
yes double doors.end of Island will be level with for frame have zero furniture. ye experts are advising me before i get wrong thing. they're rarely open and wouldn't be big effort to move table a bit if needed.
What is the wall measurement to the right of the double doors?
if you’re using a rug, you really need a minimum of 60cm bigger than the table to allow the chairs to pull out. I’d go for a 4 seater and put it in that corner (if it fits but hopefully the table is fairly to scale 😂). I wouldn‘t add a sofa just a couple of chairs (and you’ll need a small side table, maybe floor light etc)
Ignore what I‘ve actually used btw! And yes to a Roman blind
Love that Mini. bit what i had in mind from learning on here. 😁 i'd prefer a circular table but if i had to, I'd go square with pull out extension leaf. Finn is 3.8 side so that was is probably bit more than half?
Should i be shelving that wall or should there be some storage unit in the corner?
Well it looks like it will fit so why not go for a round table that extends to 6 assuming you have storage for chairs. I’d put art next to the double doors to zone the table. I would have said a tall plant in the corner but it won’t survive next to a radiator :(
measurement wall on left to back of chair. centre of room =2 metres. 2 seater sofa would be where standing cardboard is and front of seat is cardboard on floor. wondering is this too tight. 2nd photo ID "sofa"more at an angle.
Given that both spaces won't be used at same time and work chairs pushed in after use , you'd have more space in stove area and also moving sofa if required for dining space.
Circular table would have similar excursion into the room.
if i pushed chairs under table when not in use, it would be like this. i like a 2 seater and small armchair but of that would look poxy altogether i can live with two armchairs.
