Furniture ideas for guest bedroom?
Hi everyone, I’m wanting to start on the guest bedroom and thinking a modern rustic style would be nice, especially as the built in wardrobes are already a light oak colour, but I’m struggling to work out what colour/type of furniture I should go for?
Would I need to match the wardrobes and go for a light oak colour or could I mismatch? I quite like the idea of black painted wood but worried it will look disjointed!
Any furniture/decor suggestions would be hugely appreciated as I’ve been trying and failing to make a decision for the past month!

Comments (2)Break down the design issues into smaller pieces: furniture, storage, lighting, decorative elements and accessories. It looks like you have space for one twin but maybe two twin size beds, include a night stand with table lamp, add a tall bookshelf and dresser and a large area rug. There are a zillion wallpapers out there. I like a single, bold pattern on one wall with a matching paint color on the other three walls. 3 years agoI think a fabric bed would look nice, something like this from Dunelm? I can’t tell the colour, it looks completely different in different pictures!
If it’s for a spare room, you don’t tend to need storage so could always look at tables instead of bedside drawers? Is the white chest staying?

3 years agoWell the wood looks different colours in different pictures too as you can see by the matching chest 😂 This is another similar one in a limed oak. What sort of budget do you have for the bed frame?

3 years agoOh cool! I think a couple of darker accents work, especially with the glass so it’s not solid black. I used a couple of bits from The White Company and they also had this pendant which you may like (you could probably actually do a whole shop there 😂). I forgot to say re wood, I’d either match the grain or one of the colours in the wood (I’m having a nightmare myself trying to find a chest of drawers after a last minute change of “wood” 😂)
