How do I decorate my walls?

This is my snug which is part of the house my husband and I designed together as our first home. We wanted vaulted ceilings as it was going to be quite a small room and we wanted it to feel bigger and have an interesting feature but it's turning out to be a problem for decorating!
So that we could move in we just had everywhere painted white, I don't dislike the white but it can look cold sometimes and I want it to be warm and cosy. I then thought about painting the walls more of a warmer colour maybe a beige or warm grey but I'm scared it will make the room look dingy and smaller.
I've also wondered about painting the bottom half of the wall but I ideally want to bring your eyes up rather than keeping them down. There's so many different aspects to the walls that so far all my ideas haven't worked....
there will be a spiral staircase in the corner going up to the room above.
My main concern is the wall with the mirror, it's just such a large space.

That is a lovely room. You already have elements such as the sofa, cushions and blankets there that can influence your choice. Even the brass of the lights could inspire. I agree the mirror doesn’t work. I would be inclined to find it a home elsewhere. I like the wall lights either side and wonder if a very long narrow painting or textile such as a rug might take your eye up to the ceiling. You have some geometric blankets and cushions that may help guide you. Or go for a Persian runner. Have you tried the Farrow and Ball website for inspiration? They have lots of paint colour suggestions and palettes to choose from and images of amazing rooms to further whet your appetite. They even offer a consultation. Earthborn is another good site for ideas.

Yes the mirror doesn't work...I did wonder about making it a part of a gallery wall...to fill up all the white space but I really would like to get some colour on the wall somehow ....

I'd definitely put some kind of stone on the walls, all the way to the ceiling. I think the gas fireplace that you have is really cute, but might look at a stone slab on the floor instead of the mat that is there now. I'd take stone inside of that alcove as well, whether matching or contrasting. You can still hang art above, on top of the stone. It would really make the room!

I love your room, but it isn't done! Find some jazzy art to hang over the fireplace in vibrant colors. Select a major and minor color from the art work and add pillows, and 3 accessories that are LARGE to place on three places in the book shelves. If you like what you see at that point you are probably done, but if not then I think a glass and steel cocktail table round or oval would add sparkle, interest, and function to your room.....it really looks nice.

My partner and I picked tiles we thought would work but that we both hate (mostly the beige coloured ones inside the shower/steam room). There weren't enough of the blue tiles in the shop on the back wall to do whole shower. It's our fault and now we're wondering what we can do to basically change the beige mosaic tiles?Someone suggested tile paint, but I hear it looks terrible over the grout areas.Also niche shelves I requested for inside the shower room were not put in, which I really wanted. I'm upset they're not in and am nearly considering doing that wall again to get them in. Someone suggested glass shelves, though I'm not sure they're safe in a steam room?I almost want to do the whole thing again. 😩 It's hideous.
