Dog toy design help! University project

Hi, I am creating a dog toy for a university product design project, and was wondering, are there any colours people would recommend that would sit harmoniously among the majority of average interiors? It is roughly 500mm high and 300mm wide, so relatively big in comparison to dog toys. I am initially thinking of a light grey with hints of blue, but would love to have more opinions to help with this if possible :) It basically needs to be approachable to buy and not significantly stand out in households.

This is just personal opinion but I think if you’re a dog owner you buy what you think appeals to them (or for me anyway as I make interior exceptions for her 😂 ).

So for a toy I’d go for the colours that they can actually see (or what we think they can see anyway!)

it does depend on the product to a certain extent though as they seem to like anything that would appeal to young children, anything that makes different sounds, textures etc and they can pick up/pull easily!

Our dog trainer recommends blue and yellow as the colours dogs see most easily, and many toys are made specifically in those colours. I don’t mind if the colours of my dog’s toys harmonise with my home, I mostly care that he likes them, plays with them, and that he doesn’t eat the stuffing or the squeaker 🤣🤣

Hi guys, Leelee we are definitely doing the vintage bits on the wall. We actually have some vintage cereal boxes that we are planning on displaying on the shelves (filled with cereal of course)!. Sarainitaly - I'm investigating thenIkea planner but it's painful to work (or maybe it's just me!). Here's a pic of the walls totally painted green now. Think the shelves will look great along with some pictures dotted around. It's the cabinets now that will b a pain! BTW it was pure enthusiasm that stopped me waiting until the water heater came off the wall to paint - lol. I will have to paint the patch when it's off.

I'd paint white the TV wall in oder to make it visually higher and to hide the white color of the door, now the dark color under lines that it is rather low and different from two main doors color and height of third one. I like brown FP wall, it works good with sofas and will attract eyes visually raising the ceiling above TV furniture. And one more thing I'd think about: the 1-st photo shows that there are too much unconnected different heights (doors, mirror, TV furniture, FP wall, ceiling). Definitely some heights are needed to be connected. I'd put lower the mirror and the shelf above FP so that the TV furniture and the mirror up lines were the same height. To bring more colors into the room as it was mentioned above I'd pick up some colors from the art work for cushions and curtains.

This might sound a bit like being on the fence given the advice you've had already... How about a mid to dark grey ( less contrast than black), RAL 7022 is a favourite of mine (warmer grey), or look at a green grey, as something that will have the colour of the olive, with a good amount of contrast against the white render, (you won't have the warm rich colours of the brickwork as in the photos above (which the olive looks good against)). If you are painting the timber windows you would do well to look at microporous opaque stains to reduce your on-going maintenance. A benefit of aluclad composite windows is colour outside can be factory supplied different to the interior finish. Hope this might help. Regards, Nick
