Edwardian Furniture Advice

During lockdown, I’ve been working on my house which was built 1900 ish - give or take a few years. I’d like to kit it out in some period Oak furniture. Not having a clue in antiques of the time, I’m struggling to know if the pieces I’m looking at are the real deal or later reproduction. I’ve added 3 pictures of what I’m interested in. Can someone perhaps give me an idea of what they think or point me in the right direction. Thank you.

I recognise the first one as reproduction, popular in the 1980s. In my very limited knowledge the others look old, especially the second one. Not easy though!

I think the last one is probably made by Wood Bros as part of their 'Old Charm' range. It is a Tudor revival style which I think was popular in about 1940s. If you like it buy it! Edwardian furniture was a more delicate, elegant style.

Hi, It looks like you have two tilt and turn windows on either side. This restricts a lot of treatments if you want to keep the space open for furniture or window seat..etc. You could put pre-tensioned pleated blinds on each glazed section. These can be operated top down or bottom up. The problem with pleated blinds is that they are very functional but they will not dress the window very well, but perfect for privacy and heat and light control. Kind Regards Anita

I want an elegant,classy living room that is not very feminine. I love brown and cream. I can’t buy new couches, furniture, or area rugs. The area rug is new. So I have to figure out how to rearrange what I have. my first task is to fill the area bellow the oval black mirror. And then the decorations. I’m wondering if there are too many tables and If so, what should replace them?Please let me know what works, or what other ideas you have for the room. the bottom picture is what I first started with, so it has come a long way already!!

To my eye pic 2 and 4 look to be antique - even 1940 reproduction antique! They appear to have the important 'patina' of age. Pic 1 and 2 look more modern and don't appear to have that finish, or look like they have attempted to replicate it.

I love antique furniture as I believe it’s made from better materials, have history attached to it etc.

However, I struggle while deciding if some pieces were replicas, or not.

The easiest possible way I decided on for myself was finding a local antique shop with the online presence. They were likely to know more about the furniture, being able to sympathetically restore and clean it in advance etc. Price-wise it made sense as well. My latest addition was a 1940s mahogany music turn table I am using as a GDPR-compliant filing cabinet, as the doors have a lock with a key.
