Need some assistance on painting a small room. Dark Blue, Grey, and Pink colourway to be used..but which colour(s) out of these to use on the walls? Please help
Hi, it will be used as a bedroom. small double bed will be going in place of the one in the photo..same position underneath the window. Everything will be new. Thanks
If you do decide upon pink - the more greyed-out, knocked-back, toned down pinks feel less sugary and can be a little less wearing on the eye than more full on PINK!
But, if you have a room which feels dim, you may find you can afford to use a slightly more colourful pink than you might think, in order to show-up through the gloom.
From top to bottom here the pinks become increasingly more colourful. It is possible to find a suitable pink to use in most every room : the secret is partnering the right amount of colourfulness to work with your available light.
Thanks Geoff, It depends what kind of mood you're hoping to create with these colours. Dark blue (which I'm partial too) will create a cosy dramatic effect, whereas the Pink and Grey are more neutral and calming tones. If it's going to be used as a guest bedroom, I'd suggest sticking with the neutral tones and creating definition with the soft furnishings and artwork.
it will be used for both my daughter's to share..was thinking the dark blue on the wall behind the bed, but no idea on whether a grey or pink on the remainder. Not really got an eye for this.
Sounds like a lovely combination. Here’s some images I pinched from Pinterest in those shades, you could do the classic navy wall behind the bed and the rest in pale grey. The pink can be added with bedding and cushions. A softer look can be achieved with blush pink walls with touches of grey and navy in the headboard and accessories.
No problem Geoff, all 3 colours work well together but I'd suggest having the rest of the walls in a dusty pink if you're going for the Dark Blue behind the bed. This will keep it light and bright but still add warmth to the room. Depending on the shade of grey next to the blue, the room could feel a little cooler.
I'd be happy to offer me E-design services in which I can provide 3D visuals of how the room will look and provide a shopping list for specific items to suit the room if this is something you'd be interested in.
