hi sarah, we like asian food and in our current apartment heavy cooking means odor all over the place, and this house have the space, so we opt for this instead of outdoor barbeque area.
also the kitchen island doubles up as a bar area. we are still undecided whether its better to climb up the stairs and meet the dining table first or the kitchen/bar area first.
I like the kitchen in A, more than B, since you have the main kitchen facilities separated in the other kitchen.
Regarding lounge, I can see it is facing south (?), so it really depends on your daily routine and how natural light affect your activities while using that area. I assume in A, the sunlight will hit the sofas during dawn, while in B it will be the Tv/cabinet which will get the evening light.
So yeah, probably (always thinking in your daily routine first) A might be better
I’m confused about natural light. Am I right in thinking the windows are front and back only?
Presumably the back stairs are utility stairs.... does any light come from them? Could principal rooms borrow any light from them so would the spice kitchen be better elsewhere? (obviously with an amazing extractor).
Do the stairs have to go left to right? For me the entrance would be more inviting if you saw stairs in front of you when you enter rather than a solid wall.
Will this bedroom get much use? If so could rethinking its entrance give you more privacy?
hi jo, its a terrace style house so we have neighbours wall on the left and right.
the house is facing north so the backyard is facing south. so i assume the sun rises from the left (east) and shines through the tv cabinet in the morning and through the sofa in the evening.
the backwall (kitchen and sofa) get plenty of light from the backyard. also on the second floor we use velux skylight (i didnt attach the picture here since only unsure on first floor layout)
