Where to place door
Comments (5)Hi Bernice - the space by the brown doors needs to be relatively clear for door access - so as the door through as the new opening will also require clearance - that might be a better place to put it ( ie nearer the outside door ) If you do a sketch plan of this room and the living room on the other side of the wall - with how you propose to have your furniture in both rooms - this will help locate the best place . With the info given at the moment - I would say the best place is close to the French doors . And as for size - well for aesthetics - I would echo the French door size ! ( so will need quite a big pocket door hidden in the wall !!) Looks like a fun project ! I have the same toaster and kettle set as you !! I really hope that you aren't having to cope with no kitchen for long ?!?! :-)...See MoreNeed ideas for how to furnish this room
Comments (4)Thank you for your comment, The fireplace looks so bare, originally there was a huge surround and I couldn't believe the size of the actual grate when it was all removed. I had wondered if I should have had the piece of granite hearth extended to the wall and built a narrow bookcase by the chair. I will definitely get a mantel. No tv yet, don't know where to put it,? There is a tv point in the corner to the left hand side of the couch, just under the window. Thanks again,...See MoreNeed help with conversion box room to dressing room

Comments (7)Great- a photo. How about deciding if you want seating, dining, play space, or a combination, and then work out where each function makes the most sense. You could to a lot with plants, including large trees, in pots to soften the area and to screen one area from another, or could pull up some of the pavers to make planting spaces directly into the ground. Sketch out what you might want to use the space for and where you need it, and it will come together pretty quickly. Your local nursery can be an excellent resource....See MoreSonia
