Simply: we were told this is "fine". They look like gaps between the frame and brickwork, to me. I'm not expert, but, to me, this looks like the contractors have literally papered over cracks. Is it okay? If not, why? Any ideas how to fix this without having windows reinstalled?
The gaps can occur when changing windows but they should be filled and smoothed down before decorating. A plasterer will easily remedy that but if you want to go back to the installers, then do. When I recently had a new patio door fitted, the installer filled in any gaps then came back a few days later to rub it down smooth. I then painted the smoothed bits and it is seamless now.
I can't figure out how your photo relates to it's surroundings. Like Sonia says, damage can occur when changing windows. The installers usually use some upvc strips to cover it. But depends where your damage is in relation to the window. Can you post a photo of whole window please?
This is a bit of window wall that crumbled when fitting a new patio door. This is the bit he filled and sanded then I painted it. The plastic strip gives a tidy edge, even though it had to fit round a light switch!
