Kitchen layout and position of island/cupboards

In the process of knocking through and putting new kitchen in and this is the first attempt at layout. I am really unsure about the island facing into the larder cupboards and wonder whether it is just me or it is better to point towards the worktop/cooking space? Done this way as there is an existing chimney breast on the other wall and therefore logical to put range over there. But would appreciate advice and what you would put on that wall. Still not loving the design atm.
Flooring stools and furniture wld all be different to this. Thanks in advance for any advice!
