Tile or wood floor for the kitchen? Pros and cons? And how do you transition kitchen's tile floor to living room wood floors for open plan spaces?

Pros for wood: warmer underfoot, no need to transition to elsewhere. Cons: risk of water damage, denting if items dropped.
Pros for tiles, easy to clean, no risk of water damage, marks kitchen area from rest of the house, wide range of colours / finishes. Cons: cold underfoot, crockery / glasses will smash if dropped, transition to other flooring.
Have you considered LVT? It could give you the benefits of tile & wood & could be used throughout to avoid the transition from one flooring type to another.

What I have always thought is, if you try to "match" an existing floor it looks like you tried and missed. When you go with something completely different, the result is yes, I wanted something different, and here it is. Especially if you lay it in a different direction. Does that make sense?

I think you have 2 choices 1) change paint colour 2) get drapes that have cream, white and black in them something like these I like the print one because it uses what you have but introduces another color to use for accessories etc.

Hi What do you guys think of having a range in the kitchen island? The thing is I want an integrated griddle too and its only available (or I can only afford) on a range. Theres no hob that Im aware of that has an integrated griddle other than the wolf and miele which are very expensive but there are a few affordable range with griddle. Is it bad or unsafe to have a range on a kitchen island? There will be plenty of room for you to have an Island within your Kitchen / Diner. I would possibly look into a maneuverable island rather than a fitted, to ensure that you have ample space should you cater to more than 6 guests. (I've attached a Layout).
