Yellow and pink complementary paint ideas

My 3 year old daughter has requested a yellow room and wants her bed painted pink. I would love some suggestions on yellows and pinks that would go together. I love farrow and ball sulking room pink and setting plaster m any suggestions if yellows that would go well with these tones?

That’s going to be a very colourful room! India Yellow is a very rich yellow, and Hay is a bit paler and calmer. If you are on Instagram have a look at Sophie Robinson’s colourful style combinations. She loves her colour!

I've looked at some of the items you've added to your ideabook, but could you give some idea as to where you lean? warm yellows, hot pinks, moss greens? I'm seeing all of these, but not sure. Valspar and Benjamin Moore both have no- and low-VOC paints. I'd start there.

Thanks, is the light bouncing off it? I would go with the yellow as your accent in small doses. Bright yellow is obviously in fashion at the moment but could be expensive to replace when out of fashion so stick to cushions etc. you could do the walls in a light grey as it looks as if they could take it and choose navy or purple as your secondary colour (or turquoise/teal would work as above) for cushions, rug, accessories etc or even try a feature wallpaper. These are fairly classical colours so won't date. Try lamps etc in classical shapes (urns, ginger jars etc) so you can just change the shade when needed

Sorry, yes, I didn't explain very well, did I... I meant that as your room seems to be quite light, floor included, a dark grey that matches the bird on your wallpaper would give you that wow factor (pic1 below). You could then work on the layering textures within the same colour palette too with the rest of your accessories (rugs, mirrors etc). Or if you're not too keen on greys, pick out one of the other colours if you prefer- you have a good selection of pink, blue, green or yellow. As long as you match the exact shade you can't go wrong, in my humble opinion. I've attached a few pics below to show you what I mean xx

Let the little one choose the colours, it is her room and even if her choices seem bizarre to you it is only paint. Maybe steer her towards white/wooden bed with coloured bedding. My daughter once chose orange, lime green and yellow for her bedroom, she loved it, I found it quite jarring but she moved on to less strident shades after a few years.

I am letting her choose...just after some advice on shades (specific paint colours) that will complement each other.

Warm but slightly dirty yellow and cool slightly pale pink could work. As long as they're not both fully saturated, not because it wouldn't look nice, but it may be too stimulating.

We went for bright and cheerful for our girls age 3 and 6. We had Dulux berry smoothie on one wall and vanilla Sundae on the others. Kept all furniture white.
