Main bath (guest) layout design
Comments (16)About your plumber saying "plumb layout is confirmed". That is a load of rubbish. It's fairly easy to move drains around (yes he might have to rip up some walls, but he can also do off-the-wall installations to avoid that). In a small bath proper placement is of the utmost importance!!! If you have the bathtub and shower next to each other that will be much better and then the glass separator idea should work. padmaramachandran's (see post above) setup sounds more reasonable to me as well (see first picture below). This is similar to your setup but as you have more space you could put in bath tub and shower where the picture only shows a bath tub. Also if you do it that way you could theoretically have a bidet or a wider wash basin (small double perhaps too). Example layout: Do you need a bathtub in the guest bath? If not you have a lot more room to work with. E.g. for a double wash basin and large walking shower and a bidet (2nd picture). Example of off-the-wall installation for toilet and bidet and a large walking shower. Finally if you ignore this advice and do it the way you planned ;) then I suggest you really thing about that glass separator. Doing it right will make a lot of difference (see 3rd picture). Good luck!...See MoreLooking for some suitable colours for this kitchen
Comments (7)This is a very small and dark kitchen I would defo change the colour of the units to an antique cream and the worktop a darker colour maybe walnut and paint those double doors and the window sill white to match the other wood work also get a smaller round table it would give you more floor space the chairs you have would still work and maybe add some splashes of acidy colours lime green/orange or yellows not too much just a few touches. also Jacksplash is correct about the blind if you are keeping a blind go for a straight edge one. if your budget allows I would also change the sink to a white sink it really reflex light from the window and brightens the room I did something the same with my own sink it doesn't have to be a Belfast sink you can get the same sink as you already have in white ceramic....See MoreIs this kitchen to minimum or just right ???
Comments (37)It looks very good James. Even though as you say it was a clients design build, it works fine. Once the Island has stools it will fill it out better. Has that naked look at the moment. The position of the wine rack might cause issues but overall it looks like a really clean and fresh kitchen. Plenty of natural light and the colours compliment each other. The extractor is a nice feature too. Everyone has different opinions as I see on here but if the client is happy with it then job done. Looks really well fitted too.....well done :)...See MoreNext step for this kitchen?
Comments (5)Hi. The kitchen looks lovely. As the windows are lower than the units I would avoid tiling or a splashback all the way round the kitchen. Maybe just either go for a decorative tiled splashback behind the hob or use a glass splashback. Keep it simple with clear/light coloured glass or look at other decorative ideas with wallpaper, art etc. Alternatively just tile that oven ŵall about a foot high, handmade metro tiles in a pale olive would look nice. I noticed you like copper so I don't know if this is an idea? It would look great against the white and work with the warm tones in the wood. https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/louises-kitchen-midcentury-kitchen-adelaide-phvw-vp~1768716 I would also add shelves. Try searching "Kitchen with shelves between windows" for ideas but I might just add 2 shelves either side of the Middle window and pop your herbs on there...See MoreLaura Desborough
