Fitted wardrobe dilemma
So I have built my first ever fitted wardrobe in an alcove as shown below. It took me a lot of time and effort and the plan was to build another in the other alcove, but now I am having second thoughts. It would be a bit trickier because it is shallower due to the door and I am thinking maybe put a stand-alone wardrobe there instead now. Would that be odd? Having one fitted and one standalone? Any input appreciated!

3 years agoWell done. My OH built something similar years ago in one of our bedrooms to house the hot water cylinder. You’ve done a much better job 😂. You could build another narrower one and put folded jumpers, shoes or even towels and bedding in it. Would you even get a free standing wardrobe that narrow? Or if you don’t need the storage space, a narrow dressing table and mirror would look good. There are loads for sale online. Just chucking ideas at you 😊

Comments (4)I really only need the sliding doors I think as I have the body of the wardrobe well worked out I have ended up with needing 6ft by 6ft sliding doors and a few accessories for inside as I already had the poles and my husband is a chippy so he helped me with the body of it. Comments (0)Hello everyone! I would love some advice on how to design the kitchen in our new build. As you can see from the design there is a long 4 m window at the front of the house. This will be quite low and will be 50 cm high, so basically it will act a bit as a splash back. So my question is: can I fit in 4 tall cabinets in the kitchen (1 for oven- 60 cm, 2 as pantry - 60 cm each and 1 for the fridge-80 cm)? I am starting to think I need to shorten that window as I would like the keep the feel of the kitchen bright and airy with an island with seating without over crowding the space and not blocking the passage into the living room on the left?
