Wall hung traditional bathroom

Hi, we are looking to renovate our downstairs shower room. I’m trying to go for something that’s not going to date easily, fresh and bright. I love the look of a traditional bathroom but really want to keep things wall hung to ease cleaning and also have a wall hung vanity under the basin.

Has anyone done this? Or can recommend where to buy fixtures.

I’m considering a marble look in the shower with half tiled white around the rest of the room. Grey floor and possibly a green/blue paint above the tiles. I’ve attached photos of current room.

Have to say, I like the stone feature area's. I can see why you want to move away from the beige tile though.
From your pic's I think it's your shower unit that is dating the room, so a change there would certainly change the feel. Going a classic white never seems to date, and you could retain your feature stone if you wished.

We will be literally ripping it all out as it was done so badly before! Completely refresh!! Need a new fan, shower and going to veal the toilet cistern and shower pipes. Just can’t decide exactly what look to go for!

http://houzz.com/photos/3642990 This link kind of demonstrates the use of mosaics and the mirror idea I thought may be cool. Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget.

Hello nicnoll, Another idea could be to have a wall light that is all about the bulb! A few links to both ideas.... Copper is good too... One other idea... have a rose with multi flex wires... centralised where the current one is.. Then choosing cable/flex and lengths.. run them along to where you want.. either along ceiling.. in loops with hooks to loop round and fix position, so then excess becomes a drop pendant to add something lovely.... Or you run them in loops across the ceiling to the opposite wall and have a wall light fitting but the electric cable comes from the one ceiling point. So less to do wiring wise.. Need help choosing wall lights for mirrored wall cabinet in bathroom

Thank you, Stan, for your advice. I was contemplating putting a similar light like yours above the cabinet, but decided I prefer lights on either side, as there is a lot of space which I'd like to fill a little. I will also put them on top of tiles, so another point to consider. The ones I had chosen only protrude 90 mm from the wall, so I wonder if they should protrude at least the same as the cabinet, which is 150 mm, to illuminate the face, when putting on make up or in general. Here is a picture of the lights I really liked...and another one in a room situation ( not my bathroom), but they are next to a mirror with minimal depth. I like them a lot, but am open to other options, just wondered about projection.

Can't decide whether to mirror the wall above the loo and sink area or put in wall hung mirror with light fixture above ... or buy a hib mirror with built in light? Any advice??

If it was a bad job, you have lived with it for long enough. Start an idea book in Houzz and just save bathroom pics that you like. Then look over what you have saved and see if there are any finishes, colors, shapes, layouts that keep reappearing. That might be your starting point to your new bathroom! Enjoy browsing...
