Affordable built in wardobe solution?
Comments (1)Hi there, Yes, I am sure that a good joiner/carpenter would be able to. I would invite a couple of joiners round and ask for their advice. They may have an even better idea of how to achieve what you are looking for... Don`t be afraid to take some photos and ask if you can email them, so that they can have a look before even coming in. An experienced joiner should be able to give you a guesstimate on cost at that stage, so that you are not wasting each others time. When a client asks for bespoke units and furniture in our Garden rooms, I also like to ask them if they could draw me a quick sketch, no matter how crude, so that a have an idea of what they would like it to look like, in the end. Pop some pics up here too! As there are lots of pros with different backgrounds and experiences, who would be able to suggest some solutions.. Good Luck!...See MoreRevamp our hallway

Comments (9)That's a working fireplace isn't it? I agree that the fire surround is probably not in keeping with your tastes and would probably look perfectly at home in a rustic country cottage, but just not for you. There are several options open to you, and if your a bit handy with the DIY, none of them need to cost much, it's just a little hard work. Remove the fire surround and see what dimensions you have with the actual fireplace, it might be that you can also remove the iron plate around it, thus leaving you with a much smaller actual fire. However, be aware that it will affect, the plaster, the skirting and the hearth, as everything is currently built to home the fire surround. You could go............at that point for making good the walls and keep it simple by having a floating shelf only, or another fire surround that's simpler. Loads on Ebay! Just make sure they're suitable for a working fire!...See MoreNeed help decorating main bedroom
Comments (0)I am about to re-decorate main bedroom and need your help. Currently one wall has built-in wardrobes in Mahogany which I want to paint in a soft grey together with bedside lockers and dressing table. I would like one feature wall behind the bed head (bed head is a classic brass design which I want to retain unchanged) I was thinking of a wallpaper in possibly an aubergine colour; or maybe I should wallpaper the other two walls in aubergine and do something else behind the bed..... I really need your help I'm stuck. Also what colour/fabric should I have the curtains in? The room faces north-east and has a roomy en-suite fully tiled in tiny mosaic white tiles with a black/silver/glass mosaic tile border at dado rail height. Should both of these rooms blend into each other or does it matter?...See MoreRowland
