Bathroom / shower upgrade advice

Hello everyone,

We’re looking to replace a dated bath in our en-suite with a shower cubicle. The top end of the bathroom is in a shallow alcove that is 1000mm wide with a 500mm deep section of wall.

Our plan ideally is to have a 1000mm x 1000m shower tray. With tiles on 2.5 sides (the red walls on the plan), the shower door on the the full 1000mm opening, which would then leave a 500mm side that needs a shower panel (the green line on the plan).

I can’t find a 500mm shower panel, they are all 700mm + I can find a 500mm wet room screen, although I have no idea whether this is compatible with a shower door? (I assume not?!)

We have considered a longer shower tray (1000mm x 1200mm) although there are steps down into the en-suite which is the rectangle by the door on the plan so making the shower longer means access with be tight around these steps and into the shower

Is my only option to get a bespoke piece of glass made at the correct length?

Or you could extend the wall, instead of using a panel.

Mary, I am very glad to hear from you. I think of you often. It hurt me terribly when that unthoughtful person said what she said. I can only imagine how it must have hurt you. I would love to see how you have decorated for Christmas. I am almost certain there are differences between how our 2 countries do it. I had a bi-fold made, less than 500$ with install. It replaces a lowes door that was not hollow core, but crappy enough to fall apart at the joints. It was the best money I have spent on a door, because it solved a huge privacy problem, and is solid as a rock. Each side is hinged on the sides, and the top rail is hidden with a piece of wood set outside it, in the same wood as the doors (cypress).

You could create an ensuite by borrowing space from the second bedroom, accessing it from the master. I would create one large luxury family bathroom by joining the current bathroom and the adjoining room into one. If you don't want to lose a room, you could swap the purpose of the two rooms, creating a medium sized bathroom and a small box room/study (expensive for some benefit). Lastly, if you really want to maintain the number of rooms but gain a bigger bathroom, you could move the family bathroom to the bottom, right-hand room, if plumbing allows. Hope this helps.

Mirror in Shower

I have a one unit thingy that dispenses shampoo, conditioner and holds razors and bar soap, and it has a shaving mirror. I don't use the mirror but it's a nice unit and doesn't look tacky at all. They're out there, you just have to look around a bit.

Thanks Carolina! my original plan was to switch the toilet and sink but it’s an old house so I think moving the toilet waste pipe would be a hassle. Although I don’t like the the toilet is near the window or right by the door!
