Bedroom layout dilemma

Hi, trying to find the best lay out for my bedroom to fit both a double bed and a wardrobe. These are my priorities then all other furniture can fit around it where it can. The most space effective way would be to have the bed on the right hand wall as you walk in the door, but this also makes the room look cluttered the second you walk in. The next option would be to have the bed on the same wall as the window, but then it's quite close to the wardrobe. Can anybody suggest anything? FYI the radiator is under the window so I can move the bed over too far on that wall.

Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme.

Go for a beige upholstered headboard, white bedding, beige throw & some feature cushions that have the beige & grey in them. Another option is to paint the walls to a similar shade as the wardrobe so it blends in. I would be careful what you do for furniture, possibly steer clear of too much more timber

My 16 year old daughters bedroom urgently needs a makeover, but it's an awkward shape. She is arty, so hoards everything. She loves to read, needs space for 2nd bed (pullout or fold up) and a study desk. Style wise, she loves the loft look, but I'm really struggling with a layout. I would appreciate any ideas. Is that a fitted wardrobe on the right?

Feels like that needs to go - provided you don't need the storage - thats where the bedhead should be (for me), then have a free standing wardrobe.

(Then I don't like fitted bedroom furniture - to each his own :) )
