Could anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay to have a 4 bedroom detached house with a gable roof fully retiled with clay tiles? There's a square bay at the front so that is a bit more complicated but more simple at the back of the property...
I would guess £12,000 as the average cost is £6 k and yours is twice the size of an average roof. But I suspect your tiles aren’t cheap (although perhaps they can be reused it just the nails that have reached the end of their life. Have you had a quote you are trying to sense check? Don’t forget that if the roof structure or insulation need upgrading that will also add to the cost.
Thanks, it's a property we’re looking to buy so just wanted to sense check what we’re building into the budget for doing it but sounds like we’ve been reasonably sensible.
I asked a few roofers for a quote but they all want to inspect properly which I can‘t offer quite yet.
Thanks for the guidance!
