I hate the way I come up the stairs and the toilet in the main bathroom arises before me! I'd love to move the bath under the window, and potentially add a corner shower, but the bathroom measures 220cm wide by 215cm long and I'm not sure there is enough space. Any thoughts & ideas are welcome from you all! thanks, Debbie 🙏
Toilet needs to stay near waste pipe. How about toilet in top left corner. Bath under window. Swap radiator and sink. Shower bottom right but I would go for as large a rectangular tray as you can rather than a corner shower which I think looks dated and never feels big enough. If necessary you can hang the door to open the other way so that it blocks the view of the toilet and opens onto the bath and shower
thank you for your ideas and reply! I thought (perhaps wrongly!) that because the bath and the toilet have waste functions that they might be easily swapped... 🙄 I'm now rethinking that based on what you said. Great point on the corner shower and the rehanging of the door - didn't even think of that!
Just keep the door closed the. You’ll just see a door when you come up the stairs.
if you really want to change it though, we moved our toilet from under the window to where your radiator is. The external pipe work had to be moved but it was straight forward. Out bath with shower run under the window now. Sink in the right. Your bathroom is bigger than ours, we had to change the door to open outwards, so it’s now usually closed
Hi Debbie. In my view bathrooms are best when the kit is on two walls only it can look disjointed when the bath, sink etc is dotted around each wall. So, for me, the simplest and cheapest might just be to turn the loo 90degrees and place it on the wall next to the basin? Alternatively could you fit both loo and a slightly shorter bath on the window wall? Then basin and shower on the right hand wall? Not sure it will all fit, but it might...
thank you Laura - I had thought of keeping the door shut 😆 but it then blocks lots of light coming down the stairs - the back of the house gets the sun rather than the front. Great idea re: moving toilet, thank you. What you did sounds lovely too.
Bobbie thats a fab idea, and thanks for your reply. If I used a sliding door the light could still come in and the pesky "loo view" might get better! 😃
Alix, thank you. Sounds great and there's both space to do that and it saves the "view" as you come up the stairs!! I hadn't thought about keeping the kit on 2 walls only - but if I think of the photos I like on here of bathrooms they've almost always gone just that! Thanks for taking the time to reply.
