Need help picking backsplash tiles and wall paint colours
Comments (9)Thank you for your suggestions and ideas! I love some of the more daring/colourful ideas, but I don't think I'm, personally, bold enough to go with such a contemporary look. I'm going to stick to a traditional/modern style and use large (4" x 8") white subway tiles and dark grey grout. I'm thinking of using a dark grey paint around the kitchen walls and then a lighter shade around the rest of the room, with maybe the dark grey on the wall behind the TV too. Will be a few more weeks before that's all done, but I'll post a picture when I eventually get there. Thanks again!...See MoreNeed help! Paint colour and ideas for large kitchen wall.
Comments (10)Hi Maria. It's a lovely kitchen and I must admit I like the white so would probably change the accessories. I would add a huge sunburst clock or mirror above the cabinets (can't work out if it's a clock or mirror above the fire). Add a statement light over the table. Try a coloured splashback behind the cabinets. Add some coloured stools. I would say paint the kitchen chairs but I can see they are good quality! If you do want to paint then either blues, violets or even a very soft grey if you add some coloured accesories. Do make sure the colour blends with the lounge though as you can obviously see through....See MoreHelp with bedroom colour
Comments (12)Hi. I'm not that keen on the paper with the rest of the room, it doesn't look bad at all but it doesn't look stunning either imo. Everything else looks to be more of a greige? I'd look at the same paper in truffle, sable, dark linen or even the pewter may work ( hard to tell colours on screen so would get samples of all!). I agree with the others, would go for plain bed linen and add pattern in cushions and/ or throw. It looks as if a chalk pink would work best with the greige. Maybe a chalky white for the remaining furniture. You could also break up the window ŵall by adding a trim and maybe Pom poms to the bottom of the blind. A little antique gold for accessories, lights etc would also work well....See MoreNeed help choosing the colour of my hardwood floor
Comments (3)Matt finish walnut will show pretty much everything...the yellow 'doodle hair will show everytime it lands. The good news is everything is so dark you will only see half of the dog hair. A ligher floor in a dark home will have the same effect as a dark floor in a well lit home. You might want to look at a floor that is stained (like white or European Oak) with a mid-tone brown (2 steps lighter than walnut) and you will have your crisp definition between wood and wall AND you will have a floor that is more forgiving with 'doodle curls. And be aware that many people find a matt finishe VERY hard to live with. It shows every hand print, paw print, nose print, "skin" print you can imagine. Skin oils are SHINIER than a matt finish = shows up every time a finger, toe, foot, dog pad hits the floor. Everytime. A satin is easier to live with....See MoreSaddaf Ejaz
