We want something that looks as close to natural white, beautifully veined marble as possible, without having the issues of maintaining marble. Some of the ceramic versions we have seen look quite obviously artificial so wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions of specific brands or materials? Thanks!
Marble effect porcelain is very convincing and easy to clean and maintain. There are hundreds of brands. Visit as many tile suppliers as you can to get a feel for whether porcelain is to your taste. I’m currently looking for outdoor porcelain tiles and my head is spinning! There are also big sheets that mimic stone that you can line the walls with but I can’t remember what it’s called. Here’s a few suggestions
I like Minoli Altissimo, very realistic IMO and they do huge size tiles including bookmatched ones which would look spectacular on a bathroom wall (if you can get them up the stairs!)
I don’t know where you are based but the Domus showrooms in London have a good range of marble effect porcelain.
Of course none will have that slightly translucent effect you get with real marble but they are also much lower maintenance!
