Design Dilemma Before & After Hallways

Front Door Dilemma

Hi ! We’ve just had a dramatic overhaul of our front door (see below for before and after shots) but it’s getting painted tomorrow we can’t seem to decide on a colour. We’re quite keen on a Farrow & Ball eggshell estate finish and we’d initially chosen downpipe gray, but we’re now worried that will be too dark. Any comments / recommendations greatly received.

Unfortunately the colour palette in the shared hallway won’t be changed for at least 12 months 😫

Downpipe is a lovely colour, especially if you are having a bit of a wobble! It’s only paint after all. Here’s an example

Behind the far left glass panel is a cloakroom and behind the right glass panel I have a piano. (All in my hall ) I am thinking of knocking the cloakroom on the inside and putting a desk and hidden shelving and leaving piano on the right. And knocking a kitchen wall which now means you would see into my kitchen from my front door. I may partition the hall now with a pocket door for privacy. I can give more details if required ... My big dilemma is what style of front door would be great ! I don’t want the door and three panel look again.

Great improvement on the old door already.

I’m sure Downpipe will look great especially on the outside. Also against the yellowy wall colour.

Will you paint the inside the same colour?

Actually, I think Downpipe on the inside will look good too.

Kinda makes the space feel bigger.
