Damp in Victorian House

We have a bay fronted Victorian terrace. We’ve noticed that the plaster near to a lower corner of the bay is damp and the plaster has bubbled, and there looks to be the beginning of mould. We can’t work out what’s causing the damp but know they’re are often several common causes such as lack of ventilation , pointing, gutters etc. We had new air bricks put in when we bought the house and we’ve also had new pointing. A couple of years ago we had new windows put in too - so there’s no obvious cause.
My question is - what trade do people recommend to come and have a look? Do we need a damp specialist or a builder or someone else? I’m always wary that damp specialists usually try and sell their own products or services, and I’ve heard horror stories of old houses having all sorts of coatings and treatments that they didn’t need. Likewise a builder might not be able to find what’s wrong! I guess I want someone independent to have a look, but just don’t know where to start! Who should I be looking for?!! Thanks in hope!
