front door repair

hi guys. I'm about to paint our front door. I'm going to strip the paint first using paint stripper and possibly a heat gun. however on examining the door I've noticed lots of cracks. I've attached photos although I don't know if they show how deep the cracks are. it's an old house 1930 and I'm nervous about peeling back the paint and the door falling apart. I was going to attempt filling the cracks with wood filler. would this be the way to approach this? many thanks Barbara

Looking for ideas for updating front door and vestibule/porch area. Do I keep and update exterior sliding door or replace? I'm edging towards a light green for our internal door as goes with interior scheme. How common is a 42x80 front door? If my builder has already framed that size but the house is not yet bricked, how complicated would it be to make the opening a little wider and have a 36x80 door with one sidelight?
