External lighting - is bulb quality important?

Hi

Down the side of my house we have some LED up/down lights, with a white gravel path underneath. The current bulbs (lamps) in these are very cheap Tesco bulbs.


My question is, does LED bulb quality make a difference in this application?

    It definitely used to, but good leds are getting cheaper and cheaper.


    My personal experience is that Philips led bulbs give off the best quality light.
