Brighten a dark corridor

This is a bit of a research question. I have this challenging corridor that goes between kitchen and dinning area. It has 2 private rooms on the side, so the doors usually stay closed. This picture is taken at midday.
My question is:
Has any of you done a succesful makeover on a dark corridor that turn it bright without touching the building? Maybe using paint, mirrors, etc?
(Maybe the easiest for bring natural light is to open above room doors, but I can't touch those)
Im asking for succesful experiences here 😉🤞

I asked the same thing a few months ago. We are half way through our hallway redecorate, we have managed to make it slightly lighter but still not great! We used silk paint in an off white, painted woodwork and installed a mirror. That seemed to make biggest difference. Plan on changing out wall light too. I’ll add some before after pics at some point!

Thanks Alice! Is great that you are already seeing the difference. Can I ask you how tall are your ceiling at the hallway?

Thanks Hayley. I have a mahogany-surround fireplace and another two seater tan sofa on the opposite side of the room. The sofa in the picture is huge and seats about 8 people. It takes up a lot of the room and the colour dominates the room. I suppose I'm looking for something to brighten the room, but name it feel cosy at the same time

I agree with Pippa, go white or off white, this will allow more brightness into your living space. As we specialise in window fixtures i would also a full pinch pleated net voile on a track, this will allow you to have some privacy when needed but allow enough light into the room. Secondly I would suggest a change of curtains, custom made pinch pleated in a cream with a small pattern perhaps floral. New window fixtures generally will spark your creativity and allow you to work off the neutral colours. Throw in a few bespoke cushions that match your curtains, possibly add swarovski crystals into the middle of the cushions and maybe to your pinch pleat on your curtains.

Hi, I need some advice on what colour I should paint my family bathroom. It has dark grey floor tiles, freestanding shower, bath and wash basin with with the same grey tiles behind.
