Can I paint laminate ‘beading’?

I just hate the look of the floor colour beading next to the white skirting. Can I paint the laminate beading? it looks like mdf with laminate cover on exposed side. I would also like to waterproof it somewhat. Some of the edges have warped- I will replace those but would prefer to not have to replace all with solid wood in order to be able to paint them!
or if anyone has any other budget friendly ideas to deal with this I would love some information!

Comments (9)Thank you for your suggestions and ideas! I love some of the more daring/colourful ideas, but I don't think I'm, personally, bold enough to go with such a contemporary look. I'm going to stick to a traditional/modern style and use large (4" x 8") white subway tiles and dark grey grout. I'm thinking of using a dark grey paint around the kitchen walls and then a lighter shade around the rest of the room, with maybe the dark grey on the wall behind the TV too. Will be a few more weeks before that's all done, but I'll post a picture when I eventually get there. Thanks again!...See Morehow can i make the most of thsi fire place?
Comments (6)Agree with Judith too, paint all one colour as back wall. I like the fireplae and wouldn't replace it. That mirror it too big and not very interesting, doesn't do anything for the wall or the fireplace. The gold I suspect clashes with the metal on the surround, bit too new and shiny. I think a great piece of artwork would really set off the fireplace and make it a gorgeous focal point. As the fireplace is very angular I suggest a more organic colourful piece to soften it up a bit. A real painting rather than a print if you can. It makes me happy as we did everything ourselves (took a while since only had sometimes time during the weekends). id love to see your kitchen as soon as you have the bodbyn installed. What colour countertops/backsplash, floors do you have? can buy a small “tester” can/container and try it. Can always be painted over. we really dont have much exposed wall directly next to the cabinets... except for the 15”deep (island against the wall). we have large opening above that “breakfast” counter to the family room (so as we sit we can watch tv that’s over the fireplace.). Comments (0)Hi all, Need to decide on colours for our new house quickly (4 bed semi in a new development) and as I am a complete novice looking for some sound advice please. I was hoping to get into some paint shops and get some advice and samples but avoiding as much as possible due to Covid 19. So apologies in advance for all the questions! Painting will be done by the builder and the only instructions are that we "can pick up to 4 neutral colours from the Dulux range which will be mixed in standard matt". He has suggested that Shale White, Savon Grey, Warm Stove or Tempting Taupe are popular colours so far. House has an east/west orientation with the front of the house facing (sitting room) east and the back of the house (kitchen) facing west. I have done some initial research on best colours for west facing kitchen and it seems to suggest that white is a good option maybe with pink undertones? We are going for a Kashmir kitchen with a grey island and white counter tops as shown in the picture below. We are going for laminate flooring in the hall, sitting and kitchen and I like the one on the left below. What paint colour would work best in the kitchen with our flooring and kitchen colours? For the sitting room as it is east facing with the laminate floor above has anybody got some good tips on what might work well? Neutral with shades of green or blue? For the downstairs bathroom I have read that white is a good option for darker (no window) bathrooms. We will be getting the tile below in the corner on the floor and the wall tile behind the toilet and sink covering half of the wall. The two bathrooms upstairs will be tiled. For the hall downstairs and the landing upstairs presume you would go with one colour throughout? Again is a white colour a good option or would grey work equally well? Finally for the bedrooms would you recommend to go all the same neutral colour initially (as we are limited to 4 paint choices throughout the house) and then we can paint individual rooms afterwards when the 3 kids start demanding their own colours.
