Garden Wall Help with Colour Please
I am trying to work our what colour to change the wall to. When I moved in wall was pale green but very old and work so boyfriend and painted it blue. After 2 years I still can't say I like it. But I cannot come up with an alternative that I think will definitely be better. Maybe it will always look odd as it's a block wall. I am not in a position to remove it so need to make best of it. Have considered painting grey, dark green or a pale blue. Please can you let me know what you think? I've not been able to find many pictures online of painted walls to compare to and am not very good at visualising it in my head.

3 years agoI quite like your blue walls, but since you’re mentioning light blue, what about Ronseal’s (Woodland Colours) Cornflower?
As it happens I’m using that right this minute.
We‘ve had White Ash for the fencing and cornflower for much of the furniture for a few years now.
I still like it. 😊

Comments (10)Hi Maria. It's a lovely kitchen and I must admit I like the white so would probably change the accessories. I would add a huge sunburst clock or mirror above the cabinets (can't work out if it's a clock or mirror above the fire). Add a statement light over the table. Try a coloured splashback behind the cabinets. Add some coloured stools. I would say paint the kitchen chairs but I can see they are good quality! If you do want to paint then either blues, violets or even a very soft grey if you add some coloured accesories. Comments (8)I would go for a stone colour so not too dissimilar to what you've got. Little Greene does a good stone colour too but will work out a bit expensive. Comments (6)Instead of doing something like a paint color, why not expand into doing something a little more bold and daring like wood planking or grass cloth, etc.? This will not only help accent your "neutral," kitchen wall color, but will also allow you to continue flow throughout the space and give you a more well rounded and grounded space. I would heavily consider doing something that adds not only texture but depth to the space, paint color is great, but accent walls are a thing of the past! 3 years agoYes it is rather bright! I would go cream as that will go nicely with the brown fencing. Or a very dark chocolate? Plants do look lovely against a dark fence or wall. Black is also very popular for that reason.

3 years agoAs other posts have said, a 'nearly black' would look lovely - I would definitely take it onto the fence (I think it's the contrast between the fence and the wall at the moment that makes the blue so vivid). An example below.
