Comments (14)Thanks everyone. AMN - The lighting in the photo isn't great - the walls and venetian blinds are both white and the green is a wallpaper. I've a TV on one side and radiator on the other side of the wall but I do like the idea of painting it a different colour. What do you mean by "because the sectional is too big for the space already" thanks! Dar Eckert - like your suggestion of introducing another colour, I was thinking about aubergine but again it could be over modern and not the slightly warm vibe I'm looking for - what do you think? Carolyn - thanks for posting the rug, going to look it up and see about shipping costs etc to Ireland from that site. Really happy with the rooms but we've just had a baby and I want a bit more of a cosier feel with her around whilst still keeping with my modern twist!! Long post, sorry!!!...See MoreLarge Entryway of a bungalow ideas
Comments (26)Hi, you have a lovely home! I read through your thread, and I like Dar Eckarts suggestion above the best. I think because of the symmetry of it as an H shaped house is symmetrical, and it would also keep the space looking decorated but still open and uncluttered which is what an entrance should be. Sorry, but I don't care for the bookcase idea in an entrance. I also noticed the masks you have, and think it would be great to decorate the space using them as inspiration. Here is a photo to show you the kind of rug I think would work here....See MoreRoom layout - ideas?
Comments (25)Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. (Grab wine and pretend they aren't yours for half an hour! ;-) )...See MoreWhat chairs match this table
Comments (10)Some great advice there! I guess I'm trying to create a comfortable elegant feel/mood to the room. It is a child-free house, so I don't have to worry about little hands marking the fabric, but I do take the point on board - will consider darker fabrics. I do like the eames style chairs, and I will look into them in more detail, although I think I prefer the idea of a soft seat, rather than a hard one. One of my main concerns was in relation to the style/finish of the chair legs.....I love the legs on the table, so I want a chair that will complement the table. Is there any particular style of chair leg I should avoid? Or finish (wooden leg v chrome leg)? Karen: I'd be interested to see which chair you went for! Delighted to hear that you're happy with Atlantic...See Moreminnie101
