Re doing my kitchen area
Comments (17)I personally like the kitchen, kind of a Scandinavian modern look. leave the skirts, doors and trims as is. Paint wise, I am going to invite you to a kitchen gallery that I think works well with the existing aesthetic you have now. I like the "Melrose Kitchen" in this instance, as an example of wall color. The trim is painted here, but leaving yours as is, I believe, would be fine! Happy Houzzing....See MoreHi there , looking at house with north east facing garden, has anyone
Comments (327)How will you pose for your Miss Photogenic photo op? Will you go with the Carmen Miranda fruit bowl tiara? Or would the Easter egg thingamadooeys suffice? Decisions, decisions..... Maybe Grover could photo shop each one with your dress so we can decide? We wouldn't want to break any decorating rules because we do have our reputations to uphold. Comments (3)HI -- That is a big yard . Section off for your needs . Plan a patio and entertainment area close to the house . Then an area for the kids and then an area for a garden if needed and so on . Maybe build a little garden /summer house that has a fireplace or is screened in . Then the left over area you could just have it as a natural meadow with lots of trees where you don't need to mow grass -- the dog would love that . Add lighting too. Use some Eco grass ( no mow ) and lots of perennials and trees . Make a grove of trees like aspens or birches . Because of the size of your property , you should consult with a landscape designer ....See MoreCurb appeal??!
Comments (14)Gosh, I've returned after a week travelling for work to loads more suggestions - thanks all! To respond specifically: - the house faces south so gets the lovely morning (and in the uk, sometimes the only) sun. - the husband has avoided putting plants in the planters due to maintenance and they're generally twee so comments here have confirmed to me that they will be coming out - love the idea of wooden boxes with the spiky plants and grasses - also like the concept of taking out the grass/bed/tree in front completely out and replacing with slabs - yes to lightening the windows - to the Barn company, I honestly don't mind the advice and I'd never seen sloping garage roofs. - nicking ideas from landscaping of new builds....great idea! - finally, Helen Scholes, I'm embarrassed about the spelling of kerb. Had no idea! Thanks again all....See MoreIrene Morresey
