Which range cooker?

I have an ESSE wood burning range 990 ch. It has to go. Looks lovely, lovely ambient heat but a glorified slow cooker. I would love to replace it with an electric cast iron range cooker but i'm just not convinced that is a good idea in terms of running costs and I just cant throw another 8 or 9 grand at a cooker when my experience has been so negative. I'm loathe to pull it out because it looks lovely but I have 7 children and I'm constantly exasperated trying to cook on the ESSE. I would like a dual fuel range style cooker that would fit in its place, 1 metre. (I can go wider as I can pull out a cupboard but its a hassle I could do without.) My head is spinning from the things I ve read. I decided on a lacanche because it looks lovely, then I read reviews saying they're not worth it. Which magazine says rangemaster is the best but it is so ugly I've no heart in buying it. My kitchen looks modern-Ill try and upload a picture if I get a minute but I love the plonk of cooking porn-my esse- in the middle. Pity its entirely impotent in terms of cooking. I also thought maybe I could stretch to a cornue fe (and hide the price from my husband and get a loan out from the credit union) but then I read that its just about the look, nothing special in terms of cooking. I don't want a range on legs. They wouldn't suit my kitchen. I need to get sorted soon as the children want to bake nearly every day with the lockdown and we are using the convection function on a microwave which isn't really ideal. I don't have time to breastfeed my baby and a cooker! Please help!

You can stay neutral but use different textures in the tiles. Glass mixed with ceramic or marble is good. I would put tile on the entire backsplash and make a great accent piece over the range. Change up the patterns also. It will add interest without adding too much color. If you want to be bolder, chose one or two colors in the tiles that you can live with or that you have in the rest of the house. That will pull your color scheme into the kitchen and make a cohesive look as you go throughout the house.

Hi, Hoping that someone might be able to give me some advice. We're buying a new house - the owners had a 120cm wide range cooker (not included). I'd been looking at RangeMasters but the max width they come in is 110cm wide. Ranges at the 120cm wide seem to be much more expensive and while I've no doubt that they're really good, RangeMasters are as much as we can really afford to spend at this point. Does anyone know if it will look terrible/ok if I just install a 110cm cooker in the 120cm slot? Or if there's anything I could do to fill the gap? Are there any good quality 120cm wide range cookers at the 2k price mark? I'd consider buying a second hand range cooker but not sure whether this is a good idea or what to look for? Would really appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Hi What do you guys think of having a range in the kitchen island? The thing is I want an integrated griddle too and its only available (or I can only afford) on a range. Theres no hob that Im aware of that has an integrated griddle other than the wolf and miele which are very expensive but there are a few affordable range with griddle. Is it bad or unsafe to have a range on a kitchen island? My kitchendesigner doesn't seem to be too supportive of the idea
