Hallway ideas - what colour paint?

Trying to keep myself busy by redecorating the hallway. I need to repaint but not sure what colour to go for. We will be getting a grey carpet, same as the one shown in the bedroom so that all carpet is the same throughout. Will also be getting a new flooring in the downstairs landing too but we haven't picked this yet. What colour would look good? Also was thinking about putting a mirror in the downstairs landing? We have young children so need a durable paint. Any hints on how to make this a nice bright space would be appreciated!

I'd look for something that looks great with the irisses in the windows, the colors at least. Something Art Nouveau or Art Deco, botanical, floral. Metallic silver/beige will reflect lots of light. But I would leave the low stairs' walls (rail) as they are (painted offwhite) and only paper on the high wall leading up and the wall without stairs (opposite side). If the wall is in good shape, no need for complete paneling, just use a chair rail and paper the part above it. Or do you want planks/panels to show?

Colour and type of flooring do you have? What's the light like in the space? What sort of style do you like I.e traditional, modern. How do you want it to feel - dramatic, light and airy, warm and welcoming etc.

Hi there! I have spent several days looking at how to complement the hallway of my new house, right now there is too much white going on. We will paint the stairs white and install a carpet runner with a herringbone patter as the one in the picture. The rest of the house is being decorated with a mix of Nordic, industrial and minimalist style. Im thinking on painting the door frames black but not sure if I should also paint the skirting boards black? Also im looking at painting the handrail, not sure if black or white? Im thinking of complementing it after with some green (hanging plants?) and wall decor ( walnut shelfs or mirror?) Im trying to avoid greys, blues and magnolia colours any idea is much appreciated :) thank you in advance!

What about a nice warm truffle shade from Dulux? They have various options from Soft Truffle through to darker Intense Truffle. Their Easycare paint is supposed to be washable although I’ve never used it.

Looks very similar to my hallway, I have used little greene french grey but got it colour matched so didn’t cost as much. Really pleased with it.
